■Prepared Speeches
prepared speech is made based on the speech manual written by toast masters international. Speakers have to make a speech in line with purposes in the manual such as “logical speech” and “effective way of speech”. The manual gives us specific advices. Achieving the purposes step by step allows you to improve your speaking skill.
[1st speaker ( TM -M speech Title: Should Japan lmited the number of tourists from overseas?” The purpose of the speech was to be persuasive, and the speech lasted 5~7 minutes. The content of the speech included an analysis of the current situation regarding the acceptance of tourists in Japan, raising the issues caused by overtourism(damage to cultural value, impacts on residents lives, environmental issue, etc) and proposing solution (policy changes, economic approaches, decentralization of tourist to rural areas).The government’s goal of 60 million tourists by 2030 was also mentioned.
■Table Topics Session
Today’sTable topics master :TM- M called Table Topics master for Table Topics give a title of speeches and assigns a speaker. The speakers have to organize his/her idea and make a two- minute-speech on the spot. Quick response ability can be improved through the Table Topics speech. Today’s Table Topics master was N-san who provided us familiar but thrilling topics.

2. TM M talked about “Faborite flower of May” , Azalea.
3. TM M talked about “Memories of Cherry Blossoms.” A story about his love for cherries from Yamagata.
4.TM Y talked about “Memories of club activities during my school days.” Memories of the training of tennis club in junior high school.
5.Gest M takled about “Memories of Golden Week.”Memories of celebrating my father 88th birthday and holding an art exhibition.
6.Gest F.G talked about “what I remember most about traveling “- the importance of meeting new people.
■Evaluation Session
In the evaluation session, evaluators previously assigned describe good points and area for an improvement and encourage speakers to make more effective speeches. Evaluators have to listen to the speech carefully and are qualified the ability to analyze good points and area for an improvement quickly. Even if you are not evaluator, evaluator-like- listening is a good training to be a good speaker.
