年の１回の府中トーストマスターズクラブ クラブ内スピーチコンテストが開催されました。前半の日本語スピーチコンテストには，コンテスタント３名，後半の英語スピーチコンテストもコンテスタント３名がエントリーして，すこし張り詰めた雰囲気の中，コンテストが開始されました。日英各コンテスト１位２位が，上位コンテストであるエリアコンテスト（三鷹，八王子，立川，府中各クラブから選抜）への出場権を得る事ができます。
■ 通常の例会のように，TMOD（Toast Masters of the day，司会進行役）のコントロールのもと，役割の紹介，日本語スピーチ（５分～７分），日本語スピーチコンテスト結果発表，英語スピーチ（５分～７分），英語スピーチコンテスト結果発表の流れで実施しました。
■ 日本語スピーチコンテストの部
最初のスピーカーＴKさんのスピーチタイトルは「一所懸命」，「一所懸命」は、昔、武士が賜った『一か所』の領地を命がけで守ったことに由来したことばで，Ｔさんは，エンジニアとして車両部品の製造ライン立ち上げにおいて，トラブルの連続の中で， 「物事を命がけでやる」ことで道が開ける体験を話されました。
２番目のスピーチタイトルは「脇腹の肉」，Ｎさん（男性）は，最近，自分の脇腹の肉が増えてきた原因を分析して，見た目がかっこわるいに加えて生活習慣病のリスクを高めること指摘し，無駄な脂肪を減らすための，科学的で具体的な方法を明かしてくれました。
３番目のスピーチタイトルは「幸せについて」，幸せとは「自分を楽しませる」ことで，他人がその程度を決められるものでではなく，自分のこころが決めることをTMさんはご自身の体験例から説かれました。
■ 日本語スピーチコンテスト結果発表
コンテスタントを含む参加者全員による投票の結果，１位：ＴMさん（３番目），２位：ＴKさん(1番目), 3位：Ｎさん（２番目）で，ＴＭさん とＴＫさんが，上位コンテストへの出場資格を得ました。おめでとうございます。頑張ってください。
■ English speech contest session
The lead-off batter, S-san’s speech title was “Special Assistant to the President.” Last month, Joe Biden became the 45th President of United States of America. He explained the role of the special assistant to the president. The assistant supports the president physically and mentally. It is like relation between mentor and protege, person given guidance and support from the mentor. The relation is not one direction but interactive.
Second speaker, K-san told us her precious memory titled “Housework always help you” When she was in high school, she went through hard time both nursing her grandpa and studying for entrance exam to the university. In those days, house work eased her mind and made her refreshed.
The title of the third speech was “Nothing venture, nothing gain” The Japanese saying “虎穴に入らずんば虎子を得ず”. Male speaker, T-san talked about his experiences. It was to venture new job he had been wanted to challenge no matter how it’s hard.
■ English speech contest result
T-san(Third speaker) won the first place, K-san(Second speaker) came in the second and S-san(First speaker) got the third place by vote. As a result, T-san and K-san got entry qualification to the area contest. Congratulation! Good luck.
